Preserving our
heritage . . .
for future generations
Check
out our membership benefits for valuable savings and information
on how you can show your support for the Rex. |
|
Who we
are . . . |
| The Friends of the Rex is a not for profit
group with an open membership policy. We are your neighbors, friends,
and your family. We are those who want to ensure that future generations
will be able to enjoy the Rex. |
What we
do . . . |
| We use investment from patrons like you to keep a
stable operating budget, over see day to day operations, and ultimately
to leverage state grants and corporate gifts. All this to bring
movies, live entertainment, and cultural events to Clay Center.
Funding from a broad base of support is essential to the success
of this project. |
Why we
care . . . |
| Theatres like the Wareham Opera house
in Manhattan, Wamego’s Columbian Theatre, the Tietjen Center
in Abilene, the Brown Grand in Concordia and the Rex all offer glimpses
of Kansas’ past, when rural communities proudly supported
both high culture and low and valued those places where the community
could come together for pleasure. |
